oil leak from filter
rebuilt b18b1 block. fresh hone from the machine shop, baked, cleaned, degreased. new rings/bearings/gaskets all the way around. motor started up fine but theres a major oil leak coming from the oil filter.
i used a cheapo advance-auto-parts filter and oil for the initial startup. had it idling till the radiator fan kicked on twice (2 cooling cylces). i went to change the oil/filter and noticed a puddle under the motor. further inspection lead me to believe it was the oil pressure sending unit. changed the oil and filter (oem honda) and started her back up again. i crawled under and hit everything with brake clean. to my astonishment i visibly watched oil start leaking from around the filter.
cliffs:
-newly rebuilt b18b1 block
-no oil cooler
-2 oil filters leaked on me immediately
whats the deal? i wont get a chance to look at it till tuesday because of school and work, but i've never had this happen before. no there was no old gasket there, yes i oiled the filter gasket before i put it on. why is it leaking?
edit:
also, my motor is dieseling (found that out after a bit of googling). should i try injector cleaner? i dont want to run seafoam on such a new bottom end. would it mess anything up?

Re: oil leak from filter
did you replace the large o-ring underneath the oil filter mount?
the oil filter threads onto a large nut (27mm socket?) and once you take that off, the base of where the filter threads onto comes off with an o-ring under that.

Re: oil leak from filter
Anyone have the part number for said o-ring? Also, could ignition timing cause Dieseling? I have a tank full of regular. Should I run mid-grade or premium? I didn't think a stock ls required it...
