i was gunna put an old oil pressure gauge in my car, but when i hooked it up there was a crack in the hose, so i just took it off and put the stock idiot light thing back on, didnt attatch the ground wire or anythin, just wanted to plug the
hole for the time being,
then i went and had walmart change my oil "no comments please lol" and when i got it back my oil light was on, then i was driving down the street and it started to blink on and off and dim and all that jazz.
please help, i dont wanna spiin a bearing or some **** like my other engine.

Is it a steady blink or randomly lights up and goes off and vise versa? Usually when it starts that, you're low on oil. Did you check your oil to make sure they did it right? It's Wal-Mart, a lot of people go there just cuz Wal-Mart will take anybody lol. And if you idle drops too low your oil light will blink because the motor tries to die, but I doubt you're having that problem.

Unless you want to ruin your engine I wouldn't drive it until you find out whats wrong. Steady light means low oil and blinking light means low pressure and if the light is erratic and crazy acting it can actually be both, I've seen it happen. I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't put the right amount in, I could totally picture the common ******* just looking at the motor and saying "oh its a 4 banger, must be 4.5qts" when the H22 is 5.1qt.

If the oil level is OK and the car was fine before you changed it, then you are probably OK.... BUT - I would definitely put the ground wire back on just to make sure.

I hope you mean that your oil level is in between the two holes... You should check your oil pressure. Can you still hit vtec? usually not being able to hit vtec is a sure sign of very low oil pressure...

If you ground the wire against the block, does the light go out? If so, then you should check the oil pressure. If the wiring is good and two sensors are telling you that there's no oil pressure, then maybe there's no oil pressure.
lm hitting vtec and l have oil pressure. when l changed switches there was a lil sludge from when l cleaned oil pan and bottom end still had a lil in there and l think the oil pressure is pushing up a lil sludge clogging the sensor to read correct. so lm gonna take out and spray it with seafoam n change oil
Hi everyone,
I had his problem last night, but I'm a newbie about the Accord. Mine is a LX 1994, automatic, so I think because I don't have VTEC could be low oil level, because here in Brazil its too much expensive to repair the engine.
Could be also low battery charge?
