Default EPS Electronic power steering available for the dc chasis

Inline four now offers an electronic power steering kit, what do you guys think? I'm thinking about getting this for my Type R but the price seems High ($850). I would definetly get it if it were around $600. Seems like a great alternative to removing the oem power steering.

Thats just an MR2 pump and they are loud. You're much better off using the MR Spyder pump from the late model car instead. It incorporates it's own reservoir, is very quiet, and also lowers the amount of assist at higher speeds and increases issist at lower speeds. I did this on my 87 integra with a turbo B18c5 and it really made it fun to drive. Also the total cost to me was about $400. (this is on a swap that you normally have to loose the PS on)

I was also able to mount it in the bumper under the headlights so it was completely out of the way and farthest away form the driver.

i didn't do a write up but i posted pics in my build thread on the "other" site. i have a k series motor in my car. the general idea is still the same but for a b series motors you just need to figure out where/how to mount the pump.

here's a write up on k20a

What's the point? Is 3hp really worth adding the extra complexity? Just put an underdrive pulley on the oem p/s pump if you feel it is overboosted or are afraid of it sapping HP.

I dunno man...just seems that some mods cost a lot for what they actually give in return.

You do know that you could just use the electronic power steering from an ep3 civic si?

I was interested because I wanted to run a timing belt tensioner which bolts to where the ps pump upper bracket is. That's the advantage for a B-series guys.

Yeah I guess if you use the Karcepts Kit with the mr2 pump it would be cheaper than looking for an ep3 civic eps rack.

I think I'm going to try the mr2 pump in my Type R, I just wish it mounted in a more hidden location.
