Product WARNING: Do not do this to your Function7 arms!
A user sent this image (see below) to us showing how he installed his ABS lines by drilling a mounting hole in a high stress area.
Please be warned that this method UNSAFE and compromises the safety and integrity of our control arms.
We have always recommend that ABS lines be attached to the arms using zip ties and will continue to do so.

Felt that I had to give a heads up just in case others got the same idea.
Thanks!

that would be a dad who could visualize exerted force on an object. . man, talk about one very bad place to drill out. F7 could easily weld nuts on the bottoms for abs lines, and or cast in extra metal divited down for a hole.
Somehow I thought of reminding you guys of this superb classic:

I just noticed that the customer did not use the nylon locking nut that we supply with the arm and used a flanged nut to bolt in his shock instead....
.... he's also using an off-the shelf bolt that looks a little short instead of the stock 88mm Honda splined bolt (i.e. the one with the pointed end). Yikes! This is scary.
I should e-mail him back right now...
{EDIT}
OH NO he posted it on the HT ITR forum... i gotta go warn them there too!

why not machine a proper boss into the arm? a little extra material right at the vertex of that truss wouldnt hurt or make it any harder to machine. seems to be right at a convenient spot.
non-ABS users wouldnt make a difference.
personally i dont like zip ties if it can be avoided.

I'm the same way as Tyson about zip ties. Wiring harnesses are one thing, but moving suspension parts... eh
Which is why I made sure I used the proper brake line brackets from my front stock shocks on my Koni shocks.
I just had to grin and bear it when putting the zip ties on to secure my rear ABS lines to my F7 arms. Oh well.

Not having a proper hole for the ABS lines is why I am still running OmniPower arms. You can see in my avatar where the ABS lines have a mounting hole so there is no need for zip ties.
When you guys release a version with a mount for the ABS, I will upgrade my setup.

Oh no my cars going to blow up b/c I drilled a small hole in the control arm!! Zip ties look like a after thought b/c they are. I don't see drilling a 5mm (yes I measured) deep hole in the arm making it any weaker than a OEM arm. It's real simple if you don't like it don't do it. The bolt is a grade 8 bolt that has 7mm of thread sticking past the nut when installed. I'll let you know when it snaps. Maybe you can x-ray that for me too.

I appreciate the heads up F7, I take this car to a road race course about every 2-3 weeks, I'll be sure to let you guys know when it breaks. Then you can say I told you so.

I would love to see pics when it breaks, and your car gets trasheds because of it.
If it breaks, then it's an "I told you so" for F7. If it doesn't, then props to F7 for building indestructible control arms!
