im running a d16y5 in my 98 ex i need some help trying to fix this problem my idle is really high around 3000 & goes down somtimes but then goes rite back up
i need to pass inspection already

 

Bad or dirty IACV. Take it off and clean it with electrical cleaner.

 

is that why my idle is so high also my friend sed it may be an exaust leak ?

 

Your car would only run that high with an exhaust problem if you were running with a header. A leak WILL NOT freak it out that bad. Your friend believes in Back pressure, which only comes into play if you have a stupid size exhaust system or if you're missing a large amount of it.
