Default high/jumping idle. Help.

After warming up and just sitting there, my idle is pretty high. At 1k rpm's? Also it jumps up and down from 1k-1700 rpm's. I need help someone! I have no idea what it is and how to fix it. It's a 98 ek. Thanks.

I am no expert at all but I would guess its a choke issue.

it can either be your iacv or your tps sensor.....yopu can clean out the iacv if you want and if it keeps on doing it, then u get the tps sensor...

Well, I actually just had this problem.

Is it boosted?

Mine is and my problem was it was too rich @ idle.

Leaned it out, and the RPM's stay at a steady 900.

Also, carbon build-up played a key issue.

Seafoam your engine, it won't hurt anything, and at <$20 it's a good investment for your engine anyhow.

Nope, not boosted at all. yeah it's been eating up my gas like water too! I'll try to seafoam later today and clean my iacv. I'll let you guys know what is up later if I can get it donee today. bumpp.
