first off what is your trap speed?

I have the ys1 and yes i do shift to 4th. When it was stock I had to shift within the last 60' of the traps

yep, same here. I tried to run 3rd once, but hit the rev limiter. It sucks have to shift what seems a couple tenths of a second before the 1/4 mile. Could you run a bigger wheel to change the gearing a little? It almost doesnt matter in ET, its just annoying to shift right before.

edit: running y1

tried it with stock 14s, 17s, and 18s. still the same result. shift right before the traps. with slicks i shifted well before then

if you want to hit the traps in 3rd than get an LS tranny (USDM S1) but your times will be slower.

yea i know the times will be much slower with that tranny....gears are too long...i just know i would benifit if i didnt have shift the extra time right before i hit the traps
