Looking to get a taller final gear for my 5th gen base trans (top speed) Does anyone know if M2X4 (AuDM) or M2V5 (EuDM) internals ,mainly final gear. go into a M2Y4 (US base trans)
Tire Size: 215 40 17
Redline RPM: Final Drive Ratio: 4.062
1st Gear:3.285 Ratio:45 Max MPH: Shift Point:
2nd Gear:1.956 Ratio:75 Max MPH: 5054 Shift Point:
3rd Gear:1.344 Ratio:109 Max MPH: 5788 Shift Point:
4th Gear:1.034 Ratio:141 Max MPH: 6471 Shift Point:
5th Gear:0.812 Ratio:180 Max MPH: 6574 Shift Point:
6th Gear: Ratio: Max MPH: Shift Point:
This calculator is from Mfactory website. Don't ask me about shift points thats what it said but wouldn't it be nice to go 180 on a boosted motor? Not that you could do that around the states but just to know you can. And with the Final dropped from 4.266 to 4.062 you shoudnt loose too much of the low end.

Are you ever going to go 180? If not don't worry about it. If so you need to see if you even have enough power to hit it (assuming stock H22 with some kind of turbo kit based on your sig).
My goal is 350 whp running about 18 psi. Granted going 180 is a little fast but mileage will increase in 5 gear on the freeway. plus who wouldnt want to hit 160 just for the hell of it.
Isn't there a gas milage thread on here talking about the final drive or something of that nature? I do know if it's geared too tall fuel consumption will drasticly increase.
