Default Engine maitenence

Hi im new to the forum i have a 97' Ex coupe with a D16Y8 with 212,000 miles on it. I was lloking for advice on things that could be done to ensure the engine remains running well, without havign to do a rebuild due to a limited budget. As it stands the timing belt is fresh and i change my oil regularly, but i was wondering if products such as engine treatments were wise to use, or if they even work.

get yourself a nice tuneup check all fluid levels etc, i wouldnt recommend using any engine treatments as some people say they cause problems if not now, eventually down the road. ive never used any before so i wouldnt know

Yes luckily when i bought the car back in December it came with the entire service report that showed everything that had been done to the car since it was bought new. It was a one owner car that was taken good care of, given there are a few cosmetic blemishes given the cars age.
