Default New timing belt and water pump, notice a low vibration when engine is cold

Searched the forum but didn't find a related posting.

Just had my local Honda guy replace my timing belt and water pump on my 99 Civic at 90,000 miles. Got the car back and noticed when the engine is cold there is a low vibration. I never noticed the vibration so bad before, plastics in the car are actually buzzing.

Took the car back to the Honda guy who check the ODB port with the Honda computer. He showed me there is no errors and the engine is running at 12 degree of timing (which to the manual is correct).

My question is there any other reasons for a rough vibration on the car after a timing belt and water pump change? Besides taking off the belts and checking the cam marks myself is there any other sure sign the belt is a tooth off or TDC?

My engine is all stock, and guessing the new water pump might be caused this vibration.

Thanks,
Rob

I would look more into the driver mount that he put back on. Recheck those nuts.

Thanks, at lunch I lighty checked the bolts and they don't appear to be loose but when I have a socket handy will give them a turn.

Friend came out as well with me to the car, from his point he's sure it's the timing that's off and showed me the timing marks on the bottom of the crank. I'll check this week and pop off the cam cover to see if they are off by a few teeth.

Thanks,
Rob

quoted from another forum that I pulled up on a google search, keep us updated guys.

I made a mistake of not having the dealership repalce the timing belt
on my wife's 92 accord lx. After it was finished the car wasn't
right. It was much louder and vibrated at idle and on acceleration.
The vibration was so bad at acceleration it made your hands hurt.
Took it back and they said nothing was wrong. I said it wasn't right
and for them to fix it. They said no. Took it to the dealer and they
took it all apart and found that the timing was out by 180 degrees.
After the dealer fixed it the car works perfect and has since it
happened back in 96. 150,000 on it and still going strong.

Good luck on your car.

Jeff
