i tried searching my issue and came up short. if possible i do not want to pull my tranny out unless i really need to.

so just the other day i was able to go in reverse with no issue except when in reverse the reverse switch would not activate the reverse lights.
that same day i had the car on for a lil over an hr in a parking lot in neutral with the A/C.

after that the car was off for 2hrs. i started it and since then reverse would not engage even when the car was off, even using the 1st then reverse method. gears 1-5 work perfectly and none of the gears grind.

any suggestion or help is greatly appreciated.

if your 5th gear is working fine i don't know why reverse wouldnt....maybe shift fork or slider issue?

 

im going to check my shift linkage. im hoping i dont have to take my tranny out.
any other imput plz

 

so it seems like the shift linkage is fine, uhh looks like i have to pull my tranny out >_<

you need a new slider and reverse synchro. you'll have to pull the tranny and change the slider for the 5/r assembly.
