Have a 1995 stock eg dx that won't go past 50 . I changed the ecu thinking it was that and no luck still the same

 

is it new to u or have u had for a while

if it is new to u i say it may have a valet mode in a alarm

 

What are the symptoms?

Do you mean that it's literally topped out at 7000rpm and won't hit 50 mph? Do you mean that it's severely down on power? Or is it rev-limited at 50? Or is it hitting the rev limiter at a certain rpm?

Are there any CELs? What are the codes?

 

Just bought it. It just revs to 50 and no more it's got codes didn't really check it yet I'm just want it some ideas to see if it is fixable I was thinking vss ??

 

r u for real its throwing codes come on check them and fix them its not rocket science

 

If it's throwing a code that's got it in limp mode, then you 100% need to figure out what code it is first. That's very likely the root of your 50mph problem.
