need help mp car won't rev past 3100 rpm
my 94 civic ex stock. wont rev past 3100 rpm in neutral or in any other gear for that matter.. cel is throwing a code 4 and 22 but the car does not have a vtec pressure switch on so thats why its throwing the 22 code. but any advice on what i can do to get my car out of limp mode would be greatly appreciated thanks guys......
You're missing the pressure switch and crank position sensor. It's put your car in "Limpmode" or "safemode," pick your poison. Until those are replaced and your ecu is cleared, you won't rev past 3100 and your gas mileage and timing will be ****. There yah go.
cleared the ecu and no code... then start up the car and the cel comes back on throwing same code 4 n still wont rev past 3100 i took apart the dizzy and made sure all components are in tacked ad wires are making contact and still no improvement?

swap out your ecu for another. You can use a DX, LS, Or GSR ecu. Try them and see if it still throws code 4. If not then you know your ecu took a S**T.

If you clear the ecu, it should run fine till it finds the problem again in 10 minutes. If you don't fix the problem, clearing won't do **** unless the problem is fixed. The ECU will just do a scan and notice info is missing from this sensor, causing a CEL and putting the ECU in limpmode. Fix the problem, clear the ECU to get the light off and out of limpmode.
A pull a part would be the best bet. Cheap and easy to remove. You could try Autozone but theirs are cheap knock offs.
Rockauto.com may have it for a discounted price. If all else fails, call Honda and buy it. It might be outrageous but it's OEM.
