Ef opinions
So i just bought a 90 Ef Hatch and was wondering what swap i should do, i'm looking for a plug and play but also like the guy with lsv i too want v-tech because this d15 isn't cutting it. I don't have the tools to go from obd0 to obd1 or obd2 so i'm just looking for plug n play. hopefully you guys can help thanks i'll show pics soon!
My opinion is that you don't know enough to take on any kind of swap (in other words you really need to research your options and FULLY understand what you're getting yourself into).
if you want the easiest plug and play swap waste money and send your harness to rywire they will make you a plug and play harness.. you'll still have to get shift linkage, and mounts depending on swap
from the sounds of it you dont know much you should really read first (like mentioned above)

Alot of people are going to come in here and scold you for not searching. However, I'm keying in on the fact that u asked for opinions (Possibly based on experience) and I can understand u wanting to hear other experiences rather then reading something posted eons ago as some form of reference..
You stated that u want Vtec. There is nothing plug and play about it, so u have to eliminate that desire from your goals and get your head wrapped around alot of info. There are TONS of Vtec options out here, so it's a broad question your asking, but for the money (Meaning if ur trying to save a buck or two), if u can find a B16 swap less then you'd find an LS block and a B16/GSR head, either would be Suitable, felt, Vtec options to put in a hatch and while it won't be fast as all hell, it will most certainly be "quick" to for a daily driver.
If you wouldn't mind being without Vtec, but still getting the one up on sohc vtec power, the ZC Swap would be the easiest, swap to accomplish, it's a straight drop in and go type of deal and it can accomidate ur obd0 status. It's a good swap, the performance margin between it and a single cam is decent, hell i've seen ZC-Swapped Hatches beat B16's and even LS swapped vehicles of the same make and model. I have a ZC in my 88 CRX, no major upgrades, just mostly bolt ons and i've yet to see the tail lights of an LS, B16, D15 or D16, and to make matters better, ZC's handle boost very very well, which is my next step until my H-motor is assembled.

I agree, but at the same time I know better then to even try to tarnish even a smidgen of the bright reputation (Due to effectiveness) of vtec. It is truly an effective characteristic to have to these honda motors. However, I don't think u can fully FEEL it until you've built a motor around it, i mean a sick valve train upgrade on a vtec motor goes a looooong way.
Still, I do agree with you fully on this.
Nothing beats boost. Hence why i'm trying to boost my current and future set ups as we speak.
Boost > Vtec all day, but i'll take Boost+Vtec with a smiiiiiiiile!
