Default gsr swap into 99ls?

ok guys i got a few quick questions, i currently have a 1999 ls, i want to put a gsr motor in it, so my question is, what will i need to do the swap? or will it go right in ( i know i will have to hook up the vtec) but other than that and a computer will i need anything else?

and im going to have about $3000 so should i get a stock gsr and mildly build it, or get a semi built one? all opinions welcome.....thanks guys!

the motor will drop right in depending on what year gsr you get, if you get a b17 you will need mild mods for the swap.

vtec convertion is a must, just get a stock p72 ecu, and get your obd1 ls harness converted to vtec.

imo- get some mild cams, springs , retainers, and install a cable b16 tranny.

it will ride

pm me if you need hasport motor mounts.

No I'm not getting a b17. I want the b18c. But if I get a 94 or up gsr I should go right in shouldn't it. And why would I have to change my obd. And i'm pretty sure I've already got obd2. And what upgrades should I get first. I'm thinking head work. Cams valves intake maifold etc.

As for doing a stock GSR swap, as long as its OBD2, u will only have to wire in vtec, knock and I think its a ground from vtec, not sure though ( I always forget that other wire) and since its OBD2 I think u have to wire in the crank position sensor, don't quote me on it, but they have a sub harness for you at www.rywire.com. All you will have to do is pin it into the ecu. Then get an OBD2 p72 ecu. And I would research the lengths of the exhaust manifold. I'm doing an OBD1 GSR swap into my 94 LS. Since I have an LS cat, I bought a DC header for a B16 or LS, since the GSR cats are longer and expensive. Hopefully some of this info helps you out, and I'm sure someone else might be able to cover something I missed. But again, I'm more familiar with OBD1.

And why would someone throw in a B17 into a 99 integra. And its pointless to put a cable tranny into the integra too. That is way to much work involved considering he is asking to do a simple swap. 99 integra is set up for hydro trans and the car is OBD2, (B17= OBD1).

if your doing a gsr swap you should have everything for the swap ecu wire harness and so on.

you might have to change your cat, because ls and gsr cats are different

man do you have some research to do.. if you are going by this article and making a decision based on this article..

ls/vtec are reliable if done right and maintained. Just like any other engine...

There are TONS of reliable ls/vtec running around.. All motor and boosted as well. Don't get all your information from one article. You will be surprised how many "unreliable ls/vtecs" are running around.

yeah but with the budget im going to have, im not going to have enough money to do the ls/vtec complete build the right way. plus i will still have my ls motor that im taking out of my teg, so i can either sell it or rebuild it or whatever and just keep it, im not to sure yet.

but as far as the build goes, if i go gsr what parts or part of the motor would u suggest to build first and why?. im thinking i should start by building the head ( cams cam gears etc) or could i benefit from putting my money some where else first?
