Default Cooling issues

I've tried my best to do my research and solve the problem myself, in a nut shell, I live in Southern Cali so its hot as hell, I've noticed driving street in stop and go traffic, my engine begins to overheat, only when I drive street, of course when I drive highway, the engine is nice and cool from the circulation of air.

What is causing this? my fan is working, I dont see any cracks on it, just replaced the thermostat with a failsafe one, the radiator is good and the coolant is topped off, help?

Has the coolant always been topped off? Has it been leaking before?

As far as I've owned it this past month, yes, I did have some cooling issues bringing it home, come to find it, the thermostat was completely shot, but I've fixed that now and it stays cool. Idk, im thinking just starting over, flushing out the coolant and make sure there arent any air pockets when i put the new coolant in
