Default iat sensor question

does it matter if the iat sensor's location? i've had a hole drilled into an intake pipe after the tube that goes into the crankcase. but, i've seen alot of pics with the iat sensor before the tube? does it make a difference where it's located?

Im running the IAT on my charge pipe...because my fuel rail was too big to fit the IAT senosr into the manifold. Im by no means stockish setup...but it has worked fine. IAT is for emmisions...so if it makes your car run worse find a way to convert back. But if you are just trying to get it in proper location...put it in the intake mani. I would love to have mine there but I cant...
