My friend has a LS in his EG ut he bought it that way. I'm looking into putting a y8 into mine and called the 800 for BAR and they said as long as all emission controls are there it should be good to go. Basically, make sure all the OE stuff is on, no aftermarket header/muffler, make sure the cat is good, all sensors are there, the emissions carbon canister. Also, she said its free to get it Ref'd and get the BAR sticker, but it may require a smog shortly there after. That info they didn't give me.

Luckily a LS is a easy swap. if you tried to go OBD1 to OBD2a or b there would be A LOT more you'd need to do. swap the ECU, add the 2nd O2 sensor, etc...

Hope that helps. GL with the swap.

Make sure you're running the correct ECU for the motor. Make sure you have no CELs. As others have stated, you'll need all original emissions equipment installed and functioning. Make sure your wiring is clean and nothing is micky-moused. If you have aftermarket parts (air intake, header, IM), make sure they have carb stickers/plates. Best if you don't use aftermarket parts at all when you BAR though...just to be safe. You might want to bring a bill of sale for the motor just in case...some Refs check this and others don't (mine didn't).

What happens if you relocate the battery to the back in a crx with an all oem ls motor swap?

I wonder about exhaust too. I'm planning to get a es oval. And going to a ref. I have all the **** hooked up right and no cels. I even kept the oem header for when I go.
