I need brakes
I Have a 95eg DX coupe, now i was wondering ... do the GSR, calipers bolt right on!! Cause i herd that the dx needs an ex/si (can't remember the name) to bolt the GSR caliper too. Has anyone done this to any dx/cx/lx eg and if so how did it work, btw i did a search. The reason this is urgent is my stock caliper is siezed and stripped
and i don't want to replace it with stock...this makes a good justifaction to upgrade the brakes...Thanks for any info

gsr and ls teg brakes and civic ex/si (5th gen) are all the same. All you need is the spindle with rotor/caliper and it'll bolt right on. That's what i have on mine.
no i am doing front upgrade, and does anyone know how much the spindle is? or anyone have them for sale??
Or maybe part number or pics. THanks

If you want some really serious brakes and have upgrade your wheels then don't bother with the GS-R upgrade. I went that route. But then i wanted more. So i upgraded again. In the end if i had gone with the wilwood as seen on http://www.fastbrakes.com
If you have drums on the back replace those with a disc setup from a '92-'95 si or form a '94-'00 integra rear.
If you decide to upgrade your master cylinder for a better "feel" then you will want a '91 Civic EX 4 door. It will be the one they have to order. Go to your local parts store.
Braided steel brake lines would be a nice touch too.
If you have any questions hit me up. I have done all of the above except the wilwood kit.
Good luck

Just call 1-800-962-8922 and ask for Randy.
Ask him for a 1994-up GS-R front brake conversion. It includes front spindles, rotors (probably need to buy new ones though, or turn the ones you get), calipers, hangers, and lines. You can also add in the bigger booster and master cylinder from an Integra RS only if you want it to bolt up with no line bending or flaring. The M/C and booster make a huge difference in pedal feel.
As far as the 1992-1995 Civics go, the 1994-1995 Si/EX have the same sized rotors as the 1994-up GS-R, but I think the GS-R has bigger/better calipers still.
Good luck!

Not trying to be an *** but the Integra RS master cylinder does not "bolt up". I tried that. You need the Civic one I was talking about above. Both the RS and Civic master are 15/16ths. If you have to have the integra piece then get the booster too. But also remember that you are buying a used part if you go integra. The Civic will be "new".
Take care

I have an RS booster and master cylinder on my 1992 CX hatch and it bolted straight up with no problems at all. Lines didn't even have to be bent or refl;ared because it's non-ABS.
This is FACT.
I'll show you the pics if you don't believe me.
You need the booster as well. I never said the RS M/C bolted to the Civic booster - I noted that you need both the booster and M/C to bolt it up.
You are also wrong about the 15/16ths Civic master cylinder bolting up.
Those 15/16ths Civic M/C are ABS master cylinders, thus they will NOT work without having to double flare the back line, which SUCKS and is not easy for Joe Blow to do. Hell it ain't even easy for a good mechanic to do.
I'll post pics later on because pics are worth more than words.
Got those pics for doubters!
Integra RS master cylinder - 15/16ths vs. the Civic's 13/16ths. Non-ABS too

NO line bending with the RS Master cylinder! Neato huh?

...And Steve if it's a non-ABS Civic M/C then it is 13/16ths, not 15/16ths.
There qwere also some ABS Civic master cylinders that are 7/8ths but again, you will have to double falre for the ABS fitting.

Ooops. I didn't see that you mentioned the brake booster. The '91 Civic master is 15/16ths. But it has to be a 4 door ex model. That is a direct bolt up to the Civic master that is already on the car. That is what i did... sorry no neet pictures to back it up.
My mistake.
It does not change the fact that the Civic booster is an easier job to do. No crawling under the dash.

Only you would know! He he. The pedal is really firm and very responsive. To be honest it took a day or two to get used to.
Oh, one more thing to anyone who is going to upgrade get a one man bleeder or a good friend to help with the bleeding. That is the most important thing.
Take care Tom and good luck to all.
