i have a 2005 MDX, to those who had experience with the 3.2 engine/transmission combo.
what are the ways to change the fluid? i have heard you need to do what's called a 3x3, 3 quarts at the time, three times, with drives in-between.
is there a filter that needs to be addressed as well?

100% will ever drain out while the transmission is still in the car beasuase of the design of the torque converter
let it drain till its slow drips then give up and fill it

would it be adviseable to get to that screen and clean it? considering the fragility of those units and the fact that i will putting over 2K miles during this trip.
i had seen pictures in a thread where they took one apart, the screen was still really clean, only had a few smallish particles on it
it is a VERY nice fine mesh screen maybe 2" in diameter, so its not like its gonna clog
lol
if its not broken=dont crack it open... is a good policy to follow with honda autos

there is no user serviceable filter on that thing
There is a fiter on it but it only fitlers the fluid going to the differential, you can change it but it's a pita though and does not do much for you... the main filter is internal is is a mesh screen and once it gets clogged with clutch pack material, you might as well go straight to rebuild.
