What does a B18C and P72 mean to you guys a little help

b18c...whats the difference?

 

Don't feel bad man. I'm new to the Honda thing too. I was working on my 93 Jeep Cherokee before I bought my 96 Honda Civic. Love em both!

 

b18c are JDM motors. The usdm gsr is stamped b18c1

 

srry whats the difference between JDM and USDM? lol

 

Jdm is Japanese domestic market and usdm is united state domestic market. Same motor just one is from Japan and the other is for the state. I think I got it right.

 

Is there any difference in quality or anything?

 

If I remember right JDM motors have higher compression. Correct me if I am wrong but I am positive I have read it somewhere before.

so i bought it with shitty header ans a shitty intake, so like 200 Hp?

 

jdm gsr b18c is 180bhp
usdm b18c1 is 170bhp

And a header and a intake isnt going to give you 200, if you got a intake and a header your lookin at prob 150whp

 

Why is it less horsepower?

 

Because God said so......JK. I would like to think its because the US has way too many regulations and what not......... JDM ftw

 

its not less power i would say your motor probably has between 5 and 8 hp more honestly with the aftermarket parts, not really enough to notice IMO and It also depends on if the motor was beat to **** or not

 

I believe the reason is that the US has lower quality fuel, meaning that richer A/F ratios and lower compression need to be used for emissions reasons. For JDM cars, the slight increase in compression ratio and difference in tuning accounts for the 5-10 hp increase.
