z6, b7 with Vitara pistions and boost
Alright guys... I know I'm new on here but.. This is my current situation. I spun a rod bearing on my motor it was a boosted Z6/A6 bottom..So now I picked up a rebuilt b7 short block for $150 and basically, what I want to do is.. Use my new B7 block and put my vitara pistons into it, and then put my z6 head onto the b7 block..
I know that's an eye full but.. what would my compression numbers look like..?? I read somewhere it would be around 7.1?? or something like 6.7? but I'm pretty sure that was on a straight B7 motor w/o a z6 head..
Pretty much only reason I'm asking, is because my car is at my friends and it needs to go back together asap... and I'm tight on cash lol I want to use what I got.

if you're tight on cash, this new combo is going to mess up your tune...
stick the b7 in there, run a po6, and then save your money and do it right... my $0.02...

Non of this anwseres my question. I just want to know the compression I would get, If I knew more about pistons or the vitaras hight negative dish cc and volume, I'd try to use the calculator to figure this all out. but there are people on here im sure that have wondered this.. as I've read but... I want to attempt it. Ps. I'm going to be useing the y8 head gasket.
OP, your compression is going to be very low. If you can get a hold of a z6 block and use the y8 head gasket, youd be somewhere around 7.4-7.6:1 comp. Dont quote me on those numbers. they are estimate. Im weighting my options for fixing my vitara low comp problem right now. Im getting to the point where im tempted to just throw in some 8.8 comp wisecos. Vitaras are cheap but the low comp they provide are killing my drivability.

I didnt plan on using my d16 rods, I know the d16 crank/rods are bigger, I wanted to use my vitara pistons on my d15 bottom but im not anymore im just throwing my tapped d16a6 oilpan pan on the d15 bottom useing the stock bottom end and throwing the z6 head on my d15 bottom.

but they tend not to last long with teh b00st.
going from low 7:1 to low 10:1 c/r will require a new tune.
and use the oil pump pickup that fits the pan.
hopefully you can find another d16 block and put those vitaras back to work soon.

When I went from my y7 to my d15b, the d15 oil pan did not fit on my d16. I dont know if its something due to it being a Japanese motor or if it was due to being a d15. Just double check before you get into things.
some of the mounting holes don't line up.
why would you want to put vitaras on a stock D15b2/7 rod? that doesnt make any sense at all... it would be so weak, and your CR would be 6.6:1 with a Z6 head.
your squish would be non-existent.
just use the stock D15 bottom end and turn the boost down a little.
