Mini-Me swap help!!!
IM currently putting a mini me swap in my ef hatch...im using a d16y8 head and have converted the car to obd1 already...what distributor will work on the y8 head..... the z6?
For your specific setup, any 92-95 Civic D-series non-VTEC distributor OR 96-00 Civic D-series distributor with OBD1 plugs will work.
The Z6 distributor has a unique flange that only lines up with the Z6 head.

use the y8 distributor and either convert the distributor plug on the distributor to obd1 plugs or convert the distributor plugs on the engine harness to an obd2 plug.
if i use the 92-95 non-vtec dizzy that will work? i thought from what i was told that that wouldnt work...and if i use the y8 dizzy and convert to obd1 plugs are the wires the same color to match them up to the obd1 plugs from obd2? or if i used the obd2 plugs on my engine harness would i wire them the same as the obd1 color for color? and if i convert either of the plugs from the dizzy or my harness to obd2 it will not affect my obd-1 conversion and will work?
thanks for your guys help i appreciate it alot....

The ECU doesn't care which distributor you have as long as it is sending the signals it needs to run the engine (if that went over your head an OBD2 distributor will not affect your OBD1 conversion provided you wire it properly, the only real difference between an OBD1 and OBD2 distributor is that one has two plugs and the other has one plug, same wires).
yes i read it and did u read mine? i understand the ecu dont care but from wat i understood the non vtec one wouldnt work...i dont wanna spend the money and it not work thats my problem...so which one do u think would be the best idea? the y8 one or the non vtec one for the eg

i would just convert the plugs on the y8 dizzy to work because the non-vtec dizzy will NOT work. not without modification

if you are converting an obd2a big plug dizzy, i made this chart to figure out where the wires go. not one of the conversion charts i found was 100% accurate. i used this to convert my engine harness to obd1 plugs, but you could use it to change the dizzy plugs to obd1, same difference.
