car not revving pass 7
i have a ls-v a1 bottom, built b16 head....
well anyways i was driving then i down it 2 second at like 60 and then at like 7 grand it starts to tap out and im using a gsr ecu and it taps at 8 half!! so im wondering why is it tapping at 7 when it supposed to tap at 8 half!??? i was wondering if its the vtec oil pressure switch?!?

i didnt check codes... when i bought the car awhile back when the sohc was was still in the car... the guy said that he cut some kind of wire that prevents the engine light to come on?? but idk what wire that is??!? anybody got an idea where this wire is at????
its all in the way you "ask them not to rev high". they can/will rev from ~800-8k all day, but dont expect flawless performance when you downshift at ~4500 and bounce off 7k+
he probably cut MIL output wire from ECU to MIL lamp. check according to vehicle/ecu
that code did come on...
More than likely. Vtec pressure switch monitor oil pressure, if not enough pressure when your are at the vtec crossover point, then the vtec system will not function, if pressure is too high before vtec crossover point then it will throw a code and again your vtec system will not function. Either way revv will be limited in some way.
