Ok so I bought a 1990 DA with a JDM b16 swap and the kid who sold it to me was a complete idiot. The alternator was bad and when I went to put a new on in, i look over and there is another alternator just laying there not hooked up! FAIL. Anyway, my question is how do i figure out what kind of tranny i have because i need a clutch and the kid said the car used to be auto but who knows with the idiot.

many ways. if there is a stamp, check that. if not, drive on the freeway. when going 60 look at your rpm. ls should be below 3000. gsr should be at/close to 3000. and b16 should be 3300.

a little search and i bet you can figure it out.

 

theres a code on the tranny. once you find it. check online and you'll find what tranny it is.

 

it's prob the CTR tranny with short gears.

 

and your crystal ball is where?
