As from the title... I have a 1990 Honda Civic. It starts fine and idle's fine. If I ease into the gas pedal it will get up to speed but if I slam on the gas it dies.
I really would like to figure out what it causing this.
ECU blinks... 1, 7, 10, 16
It spits and sputters when I hit the gas and it doesn't want to accelerate

Too much air, and not enough gas. Fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, bad MAF, Bad TPS

 

Yea dude check those codes & start with the simplest/cheapest things & go from there. i.e. check sensors to make sure they're good & replace that fuel filter

 

MAF? thought 88-91's just had a MAP sensor..I would say clogged fuel filter, friend of mine w a 87 prelude had the same problem, but try changing or testing the fuel pump

 

check your fuel pressure. and your map sensor and your o2 sensor.
