Default Source for Parts

Where can I purchase the protection pieces that are used when you get the exhaust through the hood or front fender? I don't even know what they are called?

You should make pourous T1 logo's that are 4" in the center so people can rock those, maybe the flames would be in the shape of the T1 lol

looks easy enough..but lets say everything is mocked up, what is the best way to determine where to cut the exit hole in the hood? I mean you cant see where to start a cut when the hood is closed. Any suggestion?

Get it close, but leave it long on length. Once you can get the hood closer to closed you can figure out where it's going to come through. The actual hole in the hood will be bigger than the opening in the trim ring, the trim ring will cover up the bottom hole in the hood being too big. Once the tube is through the hood, make the trim ring from posterboard until you're happy with it and then make it out of whatever material you want to use.

Cool thanks...one more thing...U think a dremel would be the most precise tool to cut with on say a CF hood to reduce chance of spider web cracks? Also would rivets work well to hold the trim ring in place?

I'm actually looking for that one or the one that Tony has for the hood.

What's the correct name for those things?

You can use a laser pointing device mounted to a wall or something. Point it in the center of your downpipe/dumptube/etc and close the hood. Once your hood is closed, the laser pointer will still be pointing at the spot on your hood that needs to be cut... Probably the most accurate/precise way IMHO... It works well for hood pins etc too...

The laser pointer I have in mind is probably sold at home depot or Lowe's. I have seen them used for hanging up pictures and other stuff as well...

I just did what tony said. I made the templet out of poster board. This way you can make it any shape you want. Then trace it out on sheet metal and cut it out then rivet it on. Was pretty easy actually
