3 inch downpipe off turbo for an 89 hatch? crossmember question...
im almost to the point where im going to put all my turbo stuff on and im wondering how will i get 3 inch down pipe past the crossmember? someone said i need to use a traction bar? can someone explain this to me? remove the xmember and use a traction bar instead?
Odds are, you will need to use some sort of traction bar, which is essentially a replacement for your crossmember. Aftermarket ones offer more clearance, which you need with a 3" downpipe. There are several companies that make one for EF's, including Z10, Full-Race, Avid, and ETD.

Yes, it is/should be a direct replacement of the OEM crossmember. As for brands, the ones I mentioned are all reputable and proven. I personally have a Z10 one, but I would opt to buy any of the others as well.
