unkown filter under intake manifold
I recently started finding oil under my teg. It has an ls vtec swap with a type r head and intake manifold. I can see oil under the driver side of the car and im sure the oil pan gasket is to blame for that, but found a weird filter under the intake manifold that i have never seen before and it is soaked in oil. I looked on my parts car and it looks like there is a hose in place of this filter but I have no idea where it goes to. I attached a picture of it and the filter is toward the top left corner just past the throttle body. Can anyone tell me what this might be and what it is used for?
ya looks like PCV system. the guy before probably just deleted it and put a filter on it. usually the crankcase gases go back into the intake.
i'll take some more pics tomorrow in the light. i was thinking pcv system. is there any reason it would be completely drenched in oil and a possible solution
replace it or just put the pcv in again. theyre like 4 bucks. and buy some hose for it to be routed back to the manifold like it should be. some guys think it adds horsepower or gets chicks so they put them on there but they dont do either LOL its normal to fill with oil. the pcv does too. thats why it needs replacing from time to time
