Default megan header question

the h22a i'm using for my motor swap came with a megan header. well the dumb a$$ that had the motor in his car had it slammed and the head is squished almost flat where it bends under the motor. so i need to know if anybody knows what size the secondaries are on this header. not sure which model but it has a flex pipe in the middle and a 3 bolt triangle flange on the end.

Probably something close to stock like 1¾". Why do you care? Just remove the Megan garbage.

i don't have money for a new header right now. i have a set of old ls1 headers i'm going to cut a pair of bends off of and weld them on, if they were the same size. i don't want to spend a lot of money on a header. i'm putting the money toward the f23 i have in the garage for a turbo g23 build. the h22 is a temp setup cause i need to be able to drive my car while i build the other motor.

i think the collector on this thing is bearly 2" its a tiny thing. thanks for the help guys. either way i have to cut these bends off so air can make it through. they are litterally almost squished flat. so if my bends from the ls1 header are a touch smaller it will still be an improvement. i think they are 1 5/8" or maybe 1 3/4".

Have you considered just replacing with a stock header?

You're only talking like $30 for a stock downpipe.

Go to a junk yard and find the original stock header

go pull a h22a from a junk yard around here is damn near impossible. if it is not a ford mustang around here your not gonna find it.

F22 will not fit. It must be from an H22. Replacing the stocker is very simple and very cheap. Just look around. I'm pretty sure I still have my mani for sale, but the downpipe is not included. It might even be in my sig.

the meagan header imo is a piece of crap. its no bigger than stock from what i can see. i don't see it making any power over stock. the collect is the same size as my stock b16a collector. i'd go for the pacesetter before i did the megan if i was going to buy one for cheap.

One thing I've learned from the past; never go cheap. You're better off SAVING $$$!

ok so who has a cheaper header? my pipes off my ls1 headers were too small. i found a ton of headers for like $90 but if i can find a good used one that would be great.

ok if you refer back to the original post. it says "header is squished almost flat where it bends under the motor" soooooo......... the fact that his does not have the secondaries means it won't work for me.

My point was, you can replace the header AND downpipes with stock. That means get the manifold from me and the downpipes from someone else and save yourself a decent amount of coin. Plus you'll know it's guaranteed to fit.
