CRX eats iginition coils
89 CRX D15B2 ran great then just didn't want to start one morning. Tracked it down to a bad ignition coil. Replace it and it started right up. Put a few hundred miles on it and now it's blown that coil as well. New dizzy cap and wires a few thousand miles ago. The only thing I could find was the + battery terminal was only hand tight but the car still cranked fine so I ruled that out.
Any ideas?

It may have been a bad ground after all. The - battery terminal was questionable. Replacing both battery terminals and the coil. With luck, it won't blow this one.
I was able to source a 1.6 fully loaded Vtec head with intake, all the sensors, dizzy and throttle body today. It has everything I need to do the Mini-Me. Now all I need is the ECU, timing belt and head gasket.
I still have to replace the coil because that's cheaper than a tow truck.

Also, "ONLY run Factory HONDA cap and rotor.... Aftermarket will fry the ignitor or coil. Never run Bosch products on your Honda".
This was straight from a Honda Factory Mechanic and personal experiance.
