Default My H22a Turbo'd

Just wanted to show some pictures of my Honda. Changed a bunch of things. Gonna run a low boost of .9 bar (13psi give or take), and over the winter it will be tuned on e85 and 22psi maybe a little more. Wanna get some good times under my belt. Would like to go 10s on 13psi but we will see. On motor with 181whp and 160wtq went 8.5 @ 81.22. Id like on the same dyno to make 400-420whp if it made less it wouldnt hurt my feeling, and if it made more it wouldnt either. My goal on 13psi is 7.3s in an 8th. I dont think thats to far out of reach making over double the WHP. Heres the pics.

MOTOR:

JDM H22a
Stock head with a 5 angle, stock port work.
Skunk2 Turbo 1s
Wiseco 8.5:1
Eagle Rods
Golden Eagle Sleeves (i think they are GE)
MLS Head gasket
Deck resurfaced
EGR blockoff
FIC 1050cc injectors
Walbro 255
Bosch 044 inline

TURBO KIT

LoveFab SST Manifold
LoveFab full 3" exhaust
Lovefab dump
PTE 6262 billet wheel T4 .68 (in pictures is a 6165)
Tial 44mm .9 bar spring
Ebay IC with 2.5" IC piping
Tial BOV

Disregard the dirty bay. Valve cover is a spare ive got. When its all done VC will be a nice wrinkle black.

Its dirty, ill get some more pictures up when its all finished. Still need to finish the oil drain, put in fluids, finish cold side piping, etc. Not to much longer now.

Are you not gonna run a catch can setup?

It will in the future, probably over the winter. Im not running no T1 setup tho. Ill probably have something made like the setup for my DSM. Fully shaved valve cover, lines, fitting, catch can with baffle, and coil pack bracket, all wrinkle black powder coat was 300, sure beats a 600 dollar T1 setup.

oh ok. I plan on running the T1 setup. I'm currently in the process of building my H22. My bottom end is already done, I just need to send the head off and then I will start putting everything together.

Sounds good. Dont skimp out and go Ebay turbo bullshit. Cant stand that. All the money in the motor just to have a turbo wont last long enough for the rings to seat.

Good deal. A friend of mine has one for sale if u wanna get it. 3076r, T3 .63. Hes selling for a Precision billet wheel. He will sell it with coolant fittings for 900 plus shipping.

He may include coolant lines also, but its on an SRT so the lines are metal and kinda weird, probably only thing youll be able to use is the fittings. I was actually thinking about getting it, but decided to go bigger and just put my 6262 from my DSM on my H. Ive seen cars with built 9:1 H's makes 450-480whp on 15-17psi, stock head.

Also, what are your goals, youll max that turbos flow at probably 25psi with a good flowing setup. Bout 520whp is all they will handle. Now you could get it and go with the HTA 30r which makes the gt30 turbine wheel a billet HTA series and swaps you from the T04E housing to a T04S which has ALOT more options as to what wheels you can use. 3076r is a 52lbs/min turbo, HTA 3076r is a 58+ lbs/min turbo. The HTA upgrade is i believe 500 bucks, from forcedperformance.com.

im simular but with a .58 t4 exhaust side and made 390whp at 10.7psi stock h22 head, so your goals sound very realistic to me.

Well the dyno i go to is a little lower reading then most. Buddies bone stock H22a in an EK. Treadstone manifold, T3 6165 .82, same IC setup, but his had a hacked up downpipe and was only like 2.5", some parts probably smaller. And on 7psi he made 295whp at RLZ in Concord NC.

A .58 housing will choke most turbos. A friends SRT with a .48 50trim picked up 30-40whp by switching to a .63 T3.

What turbo do you have that you run a T4 .58 on?

i also have a 6262, and a .58 t4 is simular sized to a .63 t3 thats why I went with it. just on wastegate I made 391 on a dynodynamics dyno and 390 on a dynojet with afr in the 11's on e85. Have yet to turn boost up much more because of other issues, soon though.

Few more pictures with everything half way cleaned up. Gonna worry about lining up the body panels when its tuned. Looks like **** but its coming together one step at a time.

Got the catch can on today. VC is getting tapped at the moment. Have hood pins on the way. Wideband is in. Gotta put the dash back in. And have to hook up the gauges. Also gonna put my race seats from my GST in.

Looks good... only things I would invest in would be a Precision Intercooler. Yes the Ebay ones works but there is a night and day difference far as power and cooling.

65-68 Performance Products Throttle Body and a Euro R intake manifold with IACV relocation kit

The stock Throttle Body and Intake Manifold will be a bit of a restrictor especiall with some cams more agressive then stock...

I dont run an Ebay intercooler anymore. I wanted to take the build more seriously as time progressed and decided to use my ETS core that i had from my GST. New when i got it it was about a 600 dollar core.

Thanks for the input tho.

Updated a little late. But it ended up making 347whp and 303wtq. Pretty happy with the outcome. Turbo spools up fairly quickly, i wasnt expecting it to come on so strong. 4th gear pulls on the dyno and it spun a little because of the shitty tires.

It was dyno'd about 6 weeks ago. Turning the boost up to 19-20psi and getting back on the rollers in a week or 2. Would like to see 420-430whp. Still on just 93 octane. 30psi+ and E85 probably sometime before next season if motor holds together.

It was just mocked up in the first picture. Its fits more snug to the oil pan now. It is still very low tho. It will make it over speed bumps, but thats about it. Ive got some coil overs coming also, so it will be about an inch higher once those are installed. Right now its to low for 24.5's
