Hello, I just recently bought an EG civic hatchback for $350 with no engine, and basically not even rolling(3 spare wheels and one stock). The guy tried to do a EK front end conversion that failed miserably. Leaving me to convert it back to an EG front end. I'm planning to do a B20 Vtec engine build. It needs a lot of welding and work. I do have a few questions that forums can't seem to answer. Trust me I've spent hours researching and cant find anyone to have a yes or no answer.

1.) Can I bolt on an EG radiator support due to my lack of welding power?
2.) Does the b20 block need to be sleeved or can i just replace connecting rods, pistons, and bolt studs?
3.) Would a b16b SIRII head be easiest for me to hook up the wiring?

I will have pictures up this coming Friday to show everyone how terrible the conversion went. Thank you all for reading my thread!

I musts say I've never ridden a horse, but i can get it welded on if thats the only way to go. I've just heard of people bolting em on. yes i found one for 350 without an intake system.

 

What types of sand paper do I need for the engine bay?

 

100, 150, and some steel wool should do it.

 

okay, i was thinking 3 types of paper or items needed to be used. whats the best kind of paint seal?

 

U could buy some scrap metal peices and learn to weld if u want to diy...personally i wouldnt go with the non vtec block with a vtec head unless u really kno what ur doing because if done wrong the engine could be a moving bomb lol

 

well i was thinking b20vtec, h22 or gsr. but idk really. im wanting to build it. i will be changing pistons and rods if i did b20vtec.

 

which engine would be best for a DD?

 

im picking up a b20b engine today for 500 bucks from a guy on craigslist. ill have pictures of it up with and without the cylinder head.
