Default 97 ex swap questions

Ok here's my predicament..

I blew my d16y8 motor about a month ago and since I don't have a huge cash flow I decided to find a junk yard motor and swap it in. I ended up pulling what I thought was a 1.6L lower end non vtec block from a little older car than mine but as a rookie I didn't check the serial on the block to make sure and ended up with a d15b7 engine.

So now after installing the engine and having a "professional" look my work over and fix some electrical issues / timing, I am having a few problems.

1. On the old block there is a electrical wire coming from under the lower cam cover that I am assuming connects to the crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor, but I cannot get it out and can't find a place to install it on the new block.

2. There are three identical electrical wires with the same connector under the intake manifold. From the Haynes manual I have figured that one of the (yellow and black ) goes to the IAC valve the second (red only) goes to the power steering control (forget the actual name for this) and the third I haven't found a spot to plug it in.

3. The car idles a little high @1.3k RPM and once you tap the accelerator, the idle jumps to 1.5k and fluctuates from 1.5k to 1.7k. I have been told and from reading on here that this may be due to the IAC valve. Could this also have something to do with the aforementioned crankshaft sensor?

4. There is a variable pitch whining noise coming from somewhere up front only when the car is in gear and moving. For example in 2nd gear at 2.5krpm the whining is lower than in 3rd gear at 2.5krpm. When you depress the clutch it magically disappears. I noticed that a couple bolts on the underside of the transmission have disappeared and you can actually see the flywheel from underneath. Don't know if that's related to this or something different.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!

1. in order to get that sensor you would need to switch out oil pumps. luckily there is a much easier way to get past this problem. http://ff-squad.com/wp/?p=309

2. only thing i can think of off the top of my head that would share that connector is the coolant fan switch on the thermostat housing.

3. the idle issue may be related to the iacv however generally unplugging the iacv forces the idle to get lower.. so i'm kind of lead to believe you may have a vacuum leak somewhere.

4. not sure what the noise is, but sounds like some bearing inside the transmission. the part that's missing underneath the trans is the flywheel inspection plate/cover. they're designed to keep crap from getting into the bell housing and on your clutch assembly. i don't recommend it but many people do leave them off
