Just won a 98 cx at an auction. They only had one key for the car.

Opens the trunk and driver door. Does not open passenger door. And the weirdest part.. key only fits halfway in ignition but still starts it up. Key slips right out the ignition the car will keep running even without the key. I even tried with a screwdriver and that worked.. which is not cool. I can't get the ignition to the full off position, it's always in 'I', most likely because it's not the right key. There is no visual damage around the ignition. Is there anything I can do to fix this besides swapping out the lock cylinders?

 

you can try breaking it down and seeing if there is half of a key ing the ignition or take ti to your local junk yard and see if they can take any thing out most of the time its a broken key.
