i have a del sol s with a b16a swap in it that didnt come with power steering when i bought it and my rack is so bad that i cant get an alinement. so my question is , is there anyway to convert a power steering rack to a manual one? If so how do i do it? please help guys my car is beat and im eating tires left and right.

 

Your steering rack has nothing to do with your alignment. Tie rods yes, steering rack no.

 

i replaced them last month inner and outter on both sides . i wonder why there still sayin i need a rack then

 

Who is saying you need a new rack?

 

this place in town its a spring and alinement shop. they said they could aline my car but because of the front end being so loose that it would need another alinement again not far down the road

 

i just had a power to manual rack and pinion conversion 2 weeks ago on my ed sedan and the only thing that would affect the alignment would be the outer tie rods...!!!

 

so i should pretty much say screw what there saying and get it aligned anyways ?

 

take it to firestone and get a lifetime alignment for $169.99 so that way you can take it to various ones if you dont like what the first store says...there is also a $10 coupon off on the firestone website...!!!
