I've been a typical stock motor mount guy forever. However, i'm tired of wearing out stock quality mounts. Yeah, they're cheap, but a hard driver will eat through them, or at least I do. The problem is that worn mounts bust your exhuast to pieces and everything else. Yeah, I developed an exhaust leak. How? The engine starts to rotate bad enough to bust the exhaust manifold-to-down tube bolt. I mean it just snapped it. That's engine rotation right there son.
Now, I know I need something in the poly department. I was considering the poly inserts, but I just feel that they won't last.
Can someone chime in on this to give me a clue about what I can expect from inserts. Also, I have some for a 90-93 teg that I still have left over from my old teg that are still in the package. I'm sure they're a mile from fitting, but you guys would be the ones to know.

I'd go with Hasport. You can get whatever hardness you want, then if you've got ***** you can change over to the solid inserts. Nothing special required to do the change. Just press out the old and in with the new.
u answered your own question.
"Yeah, they're cheap, but a hard driver will eat through them, or at least I do."
Avid or hasport
u just need to get the mounts with the hadrest bushing available. it worked for me for years of abuse & never one issue till i went over 600whp & once the rear mount went out but i blame that on the age of the mount. u wont have that problem.
for street i would not use the solid as vibration will deff go up deff to much for your application.
I am waiting on my Avid solid mounts to arrive hopefully this week.

I noticed that you guys didn't mention Innovative Mounts. Not to turn the thread into something that ends up being against Innovative, but i'm just curious as to what's up.
Lastly, wouldn't installing just a poly rear mount should suffice, or am I missing something here as far as the mechanical theory involved? I just don't know for sure if only a rear poly mount alone will be the way to go.

I'm running innovative mounts. Haven't had a single issue with them. Great quality and installed without any issues. Innovative mounts come with a lifetime warranty, i believe Hasport does too, and others might but i don't know for sure.
I suggest the avid solid torque mounts that replace the front two mounts. You get to keep the stock rubber mounts in the back and the sides still so vibration won't be too bad yet the front two mounts will keep your engine from moving too much.

Paulzy, I am assuming that you've done this. Right?
I have the solid mounts for the main mounts so I don't need those but trust me, they work great
the avid torque mounts will transfer way more vibration than the 3 main mounts....its unbearable..but sloppy shifting and wheel hop is worst than driving a blender...
go with Innovative Mounts... I use them and all my friends ran them without an issue ... Lifetime warranty can't beat that... go with 75a for daily driven car

I have 5 avid mounts in my teg, the two lower tq mounts caused the most vibration out of them all. After they all broke in though, they have been the best mounts I have ever owned. Vibration isn't bad, shifts are smooth as silk with no slop between shifts. I recommend the 3 avids for a mild street setup, for a more aggressive street setup, add the tq mounts.
*60A Street (Red)
*75A Track (Black) [Add $10.00]
*85A Race (Grey) [Add $10.00]
*95A Extreme (Red) [Add $10.00]
Since it is a daily driver you may not want to have too much vibration in the cabin (it never bothered me, but for some it does) I would recommend the energy suspension motor mount inserts, they are like 30-40 bux and they work really well, my friend had then in his 450+whp civic and had no problem with them at all. these will def work well for you!
Innovative Mounts bushing choices
60a - Excellent and highly recommended for street driven vehicles. Significantly stiffer than stock motor mounts,
yet retains a very streetable, quiet ride. Standard bushing color for 60a bushings is Red.
75a - Excellent for occasional / weekend race vehicles. Still streetable, however will transmit much more engine
vibrations to the passenger compartment than 60a bushings. 75a bushings are standard on most F / H series
mount kits. Standard bushing color for 75a bushings is Black.
85a - Ideal for purpose built race vehicles. Will transmit significant vibrations throughout the chassis. Not
recommended for street driven vehicles. Eliminates wheel hop and nearly all engine movement within the
engine compartment. Standard bushing color for 85a bushings is Grey.
95a - No longer offered by Innovative Mounts
Solid - Available exclusively on Innovative Billet Mount kits, these solid billet bushing inserts convert a set of
Innovative billet mounts to a solid engine mount setup.

I'm thinking that 60a's could wear or deformate. Does this sound right? I wouldn't know.
