ok, im building a b20 vtec motor using a b16a head and a b20b bottom end, ive purchased some cams from a private seller but he claimed they were aftermarket, they have the 3 pertruding lines on the top of the cam simular to b17 gsr cams, but ive taken them to a machine building shop and the guy measured the lift of the cams to be 270, and 290, not sure which number is intake and which number is exhaust (he didnt have a machine to measure the durations), but he said its quite simular to a itr cam, could it be possible for a gsr cam to have the same lift as an itr cam??? it is engraved "HP" at the end of each cam if that helps any....

im afraid they may be, but could itr and gsr cams have the same liftt? 290 exhaust and 270 intake? or possibly regrinded???

 

No their lift durations are different.

EXHAUST lift - 10.5mm, duration 235 @1mm

 

If the guy at the build shop measured them to be 270 and 290 then its aftermarket cams.

 

Regrinds maybe and the hp might be the company name? kinda look like the b16 cams the obd0 cams
