Default engine identification

My friend is looking to buy a hatch so I can't actually look at the engine code... I thought of that... but I think it is a beat up b16....

Not a B16, It's an LS engine, either a B18A/B18B, but looking at the intake manifold, I am leaning more towards a B18B

thanks guys cause this kid was trying to drop all these names and what not. He was trying as hard as he could not to show us the engine bay only saying "it's an integra engine" which is pretty vague. then some bullshit about gsr which i laughed at because that is certainly not a b18c... Good catch with the "no solenoid" comment because I just realized that myself

Yep, I change my answer from B18B to B18B1, due to the purge solenoid on the back of the intake manifold.

Bump. atleast he was honest in saying integra engine, although it does look quite rough.

always get pics of the engine code/serial and or vin tags if 96 and newer motor.

The valve cover from the op is a stock cover on B series NON vtec for pre 96 cars, afterward it has the nice smooth cover pictured in the white eg above.

you can always take off the valve cover paint and then just paint it with high temp spray paint but when you do it take off the valve cover so you dont paint anything else...
