i just bought a 99 ex from a friend. he said second here was going out. works sometimes and sometimes not. well ive noticed that the shifter seems to hit the exhaust sometimes trying to go into second. its a cheapo adjustable short throw. could that be the problem? im hoping i can just swap the shifter out and the problem be fixed.

def try swapping out the shifter first itll be much cheaper

 

well i noticed the cheapo thats on the car now has a good amount of play while in any gear.?

 

it shouldnt move around too much when in gear. otherwise it would come out of gear i would think

 

compared to any other manual i have driven it moves in gear almost like in neutral. so im really starting to think its the shifter. ordering the b&m tonight hopefully
