Default different feel

okay my friend has a 99 ex and i have a 95 ex and i drove his car and it shifted different than mine, i thought it was just cuz it was a different year then my other friend just bought a 94 civic ex i drove it and it shifted the same as the 99, in gear it the shifter is moves a lot it almost feels like its in nutral, but the other cars it bearly moves in gear, and the way it feels when you are actually pulling down the shifter to shift gears feels a lot smoother in there cars, is it supposed to be like that or what

thanks
tony

The slop of the shifter has a lot more to do with the "bitch pin" and how tightly it's in place than the condition of your bushings. Bushings contribute to the solidity of shifts and the precision of the movement from gate to gate.

I had that problem in my integra...I had the wrong shift linkage. Not sure if that is any correlation to your problem, is your car stock?
