Is my motor obd1 or obd2

how can i tell what year my b16a2 is ... and therefore whether its obd1 or 2?

well if its a b16a2 then you already have your answer. usdm they were only available in the 99-00 civic si, so that makes it originally an obd2b engine.

I dont know if its usdm ... but if it is and i have an eg (93 si with a p28) what wiring concerns do I have? and can I just chip my p28 and move along?

if it says b16a2 on the block its usdm if it says b16a on the block its jdm, yes chip the P28

what he said ^ chip the p28 with a b16 basemap. check out phearable.net and xenocron. they'll be able to help you out.

1996 was the first year for OBD2. If your car has 2 o2 sensors (one on the header/manifold and the other near the catalytic converter) you have OBD2.

your cylinder head has the date when the motor was made.
is on top of the header runners
