My friend has Tenzo R seats in his 96 hatch. I have a 95 coupe. He doesnt know if the brackets will fit in my car and neither do i so i thought id ask here. Are the seat mounts the same in a 95 and 96? other forums werent much help, everyone seems to only be interested in rear seats.

I have 95 Seats in my 97 Hatch. Three of the bolts will bolt on with no problem, but the one one the rear right will not line up. You can use them with no problem, I had mine for 7 years and they don't move at all, as long as you tightem pretty good since you will only use 3 bolts out of the 4.

 

i have 96 prelude seats in my ek coupe three of the bolts lined up, one i hade to persuade with a side grinder a bit... but they look sick

 

This is a picture of my friend's car that was crashed. Thankfully, he lived and was okay after this. Both people went to the hospital though. Both of these seats had only 3 bolts holding them in. This is what happens to them: they twist.

Please, just buy the correct rails for your seats so that all 4 bolts line up. You should be able to get them from a wrecking yard.

 

Okay EG to EK or vice versa is fairly easy to swap. What you need to do.

1. Have an EK seat and EG seat to use as reference and to work on.
2. Rachet with a 14mm, 10mm, 12mm philips screwdriver or flathead of that size.
3. Remove the seat from the car.
4. Take off the plastic coverings with screwdriver.
5. Unhook the wire that runs across both rails.
6. For outer side rail (sits next to the door) just swap the rail with the EG or EK one.
7. For inner side rail (sits next to center console) you need to swap the whole bracket with the rails. Remove the bracket bolts with the 14mm and swap it over.
8. Hook the metal wire backup, align the rails, put back the plastic coverings and your good to go.

All 4 bolts will line up because you are using EK rails instead of EG/DC or the other way around. But yea, whatever you do make sure you have all 4 points mounted up. It's not safe at all with only 3 points mounted up. When you crash, the whole seating rails and brackets will twist. That will not give support to your neck and your back during the collision.

 

Don't worry, I plan to get new seats in a couple of months.

good write up im gonna try to use this my friend has a EK and wants to sell me his recaros but i knew they wouldnt bolt in to my EG

 

they will go in fine with three bolts only

 

i just drilled a new hole for the forth bolt that didnt lined up and screw the bolt back in it.. that muathamoffoo is not going anywhere..lol

 

You guys are both CRAZY!!

It takes "10 mins" to swap the rails on each seat...so easy!!!!!

Why would you spend 20 mins to ensure your safety??

I did the rail swap on my 2000 civic- fits perfect!!



Also swapped them out on my 96 hatch...sooooo easy!

One thing I forgot to mention. EG/DC rails sit lower than the EK rails. Using the EK rails will give you the EK heights. Something I've been trying to find out is there such thing as aftermarket rails that sits as low as the EG/DC in an EK?

 

This is not true. As per the pics i have posted above, both of those cars have only "one" rail swapped, the height of the rails are the same. The design of the seat is what is different.

Here is a cell phone pic i took of a 2000 Integra and a 2000 Civic Si seat side by side. I was able to spend 10 mins by switching only the one rail to make it a bolt in for my civic

 

i perfer tegs seats then the si ones..imo it just look way better the the si ones.
