Hi,

I just bought an EK a month ago with the hopes and dreams to make it a street legal race car. And I would like to ask what is the best exhaust system for my car (2000 Honda Civic Hatchback). If you can list the top 3, I would really appreciate that.

Stock Ctr exhaust

 

Depends what motor setup you are going to run usually, as in Turbo, Supercharged, stock d16y7 , or a b18c5 .

But overall bolt on I believe the winner is

apexi ws2

 

Its going to be a stock D16Y7 until the motor goes and I can afford possibly a B20Vtec or a B-series swap.

 

How do they sound? Are they not high pitched?

 

This has been asked so many times it's ridiculous.

Search man, you are going to get the EXACT same answers people always say, WS2, Comptech, etc.

 

I have a 3in exhaust. Not so high pitched.

What about the best Headers?

 

I have 4-1 headers tho. Try 4-2-1 for a deeper sound.

 

Do you want sound ? Or do you want performance ?

If you want sound you can just get a fart can from your local autozone.
If you want performance go to your local muffler shop and have them cut you a straight pipe.
If you want both do a search on this site for recommendations as to what a decent cat-back system you can get. Chances are that any of them will suit you fine, after all is just a way to get those exhaust gasses out of your car as soon as possible.

 

I love my Apexi World Sport.

 

I want performance.

 

I'd say go for a twin loop design. Good sound, not raspy or loud and does give performance

b20v is not street legal. well i guess it depends what state your in

Nice deep sound not that tuna can you get from most other systems. If you purchase the one for the EK in particular you will not have a cat once you swap to a Bseries engine as your current motor has a header/cat combo that bolts directly to the piping.

 

Apexi WS2

 

A lot better flowing but louder and more $$. I went with the Apexi WS2 Noir because it wasn't loud and cops don't see the shinny muffler.

 

Exactly why I bought the original World Sport.

 

what sucks about the ws2 exhaust is that its bigger and flashier looking then my es oval exhaust. Cops still pulled over my other friend even when my exhaust is louder than his.. interesting no?

 

performance wise, buddy club spec 2/3. loud!
otherwise ws2, looks and sounds good.

 

world sport 2, headers and exhuast will not do anything for a y7.
But a spec ii is a damn straight pipe so if your looking for power try that i guess, be warned tho its very loud
