new car ??'s
hey all im about to be picking up a 95 civic dx. its been sitting in a friends garage for 3-4 years.
my question is about getting the old gas out. my one friend told me to just undo fuel line to fuel filter then make an extension to a gas can then just let the fuel pump drain it all. is this going to to get all the gas out or will i have to drop the fuel tank?

your friends ideal will work but if you want completely 100% of the gas out your going to have to drop the tank and open it up to de-puddle and clean it out. you could just stick a hose down into the tank and siphon the gas out with a hose into a bucket or something like that too.
There should be a fuel drain plug on the driver side of the tank. Be careful loosening it. You should be able to get most of the gas out. I wouldn't recommend starting the car with the old gas in it because of the gunk that could be inside the tank still. Instead drain all you can and drop the tank and clean it out then fill it up. Take the fuel line off the filter and drain about a gallon into a container. Should be good as new.
