When I'm inside my car and it's idling I hear a knocking noise coming from the passenger side.. I open up the hood and try to listen for it and it's much more faint but seems like it's coming from the tranny area. It stops completely if I give it any gas, any ideas?? B16 w/ B16 tranny, shifts perfectly no grinds but it does like to pop out of 5th gear.

 

probably the tranny main shaft bearings. time for rebuild

 

Anyone else think this is the culprit?
