this has been an ongoing problem for...maybe 4-6 months. finally deciding to fix up all the minor problems with my honda... the speedometer is very inaccurate. i can be going like 30 and it slowly flutters around 25-45. when i hit 4k+ rpm, it jumps +/- 20 mph or so. somehow, i passed inspection a few months ago. they told me i had to go get the diodes adjusted/balanced or whatever.

Is this true? or is it a quick fix somehow?

ikr? i thought it would be common in a 15+ year old car, that maybe SOMEONE would have input on a easy diy fix or something, lol

 

Have you tried a different cluster?

My current project EK suffer from the same problem. I'm holding off on a replacement cluster as I have other issues to deal with but give that a shot. Swap clusters with a working unit from a buddy or buy a cheap cluster from a junkyard.

 

ive been to 5 local junkyards, seen over 4 dozen civics [mostly because im trying to replace my spray painted interior, thank you previous owner]. and they are TRASHED. entire dash ripped, motor, tranny, lights, seats, carpet in most, etc. i seen 1 cluster and it was keyed up bad.

i have white-face gauges in though, so if its not the cluster, id like to keep my gauges =P

check your vss and as far as your interior dye that **** with some sem dye my bro did that to his ef went from blue to black **** looks factory. and you on patuned by chance just noticed you were from lebanon.

 

i got the seats, carpet, and dash itself. pablo or jose or whatever his name was just seemed to want to spray everything that could come off the car with 2 bolts or less. i figured with all the civics out there, interior would be easy to replace. this is quite the scavenger hunt. a driver side inner door pocket just sold on ebay for 35 shipped... im not blowing 300-400 bucks on a few vents and stuff, lol.

 

yeah the junkyards around here if the have eg civics they are stripped to no end i been looking for some ek side skirts forever and finnally found some at eichelberger's u pull it in spring grove..
