Straight Edge Substitute ?
Ok, Im **** Poor Broke Right Now, And Can't Really Afford To Get A Machine Shop To Check My Head For Any Warping That Might Have Happened. When I Pulled The Head Off The Old Motor, It Worked ( Held Compression, All Seals Fine, Etc. ) Reason I'm Putting This Head On Another Block Is Because Well, The Old Block Spun A Bearing Out.
Is There Anyway To Check For Head Warp, Besides A Straight Edge (Googled Prices, Suckers Are Like 60 Bucks ! WTF.), And Sending Off To A Machine Shop ? I Know That Alone Sounds Stupid, But Like I Said, I'm Building On VERY VERY Low Funds, Like ... L.O.W. I'm Surprised I Have The Money To Buy A New Gasket

Why not offer the shop $20-$25 just to check?
Why not buy a straight edge then take it back? Use credit card and charge back if they refuse. Unethical, but I have had to do it in the past.

For real man, im sure if you take it to a machine shop and ask them to straight edge it really quick they will. and for next to nothing. maybe even free cause it doesnt take but like 2 mins, unless it is warped, then they will tell u really quickly!
I have heard of using glass to check snowmobile heads for warpage. Apparently a sheet of glass is supposed to be perfectly flat? I dunno...just a suggestion...maybe something worth googling?
