Default Cluster temp gauge

I put a canadian cluster in my car and now the temp gauge reads hot. When the car warms up, the temp gauge climbs all the way to max. I kno my car isn't running hot because my original cluster still works perfect. What is making my new custer not read correctly and how do I fix it?
