Default Unplugged MAP sensor and bad fuel tank?

hey guys hope someone can help with my two problems. First the car Red 1991 Hatch STD D15b1 w/4spd. stock header with straight pipe to canister. The previous kinda slapped this car together. Runs great DD 80 miles round trip.Engine stripped just alt. inside no heater core or ducts empty behind dash. Has vinyl perforated blue seats blue gray interior. OK #1 question, the MAP sensor is not plugged in,runs great, plug in sensor starts to idle high and low, high and low, switched with JY sensor and the same, Whats UP???http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...milies/mad.gif

Next before i bought the car the previous owner said he had to drop tank for something, so now fuel gauge only goes from 1/2 to Full,it will only take 5 to 6 gallons at a time and when it get down to 3 it stalls out when i stop or turn to fast. What could be problem may be i can fix before i decide to drop the tank.

any help would be appreciated. pix coming sood

Problem #2 sounds like a fuel pickup issue.

Yeah, but on the ef's you gotta drop the tank to check it out. Sometimes the strainer sock falls off in the tank, causing fuel pickup issues. If the stock sock is still attached, it sounds like the pump is going out. Maybe you could find out why the previous owner had to drop the tank?
Good Luck.
